Made of a hard wearing polyester -coated fabric, has about an inch of padding, the material touching the instrument is a nice soft velour material. There is a hard insert for the bell so all in all, plenty of protection. There are two outside pockets, one that has two sleeves for mouthpieces which means that they will not have to rattle around inside the bag and cause damage to your instrument. The other pocket is 12" inches long by 8" inches deep so you can get some sheet music in there ,if you need to. Did I mention that it also has backpack straps as well as your normal carrying handles.
