Using traditional methods of craftsmanship and skills acquired through
many years of experience plus a wide range of specialised tools, Dave
Ballard can repair your instrument to give you and your audiences many
more years of pleasurable music.
Wherever possible materials will be matched to the original, using only
the finest woods and metals available. For example, ebony, rosewood,
nickel and brass are carefully selected, cut, turned, fitted and
polished by hand. Quality pads and cork are used in the repair of
woodwind, whilst soft solder and silver solder are carefully employed in
the repair of brass items.
Estimates can be given for any repair, special commission or insurance
work. Mouth pieces, reeds, valve oils, cases and other accessories can
be supplied
Contracts are undertaken for schools, music clubs, groups, bands and
orchestras.
